Montipora stning

So a lot of my acros look dry but several of my montipora are stning. It's pretty odd as my nitrates are around 10, po4s are. 03 alk 7.4, calcium and mag are high but I'm only dosing alk with a dosing pump to lower them. I did dose some seachem stronium but only a third of what I should to bring my levels up. I feed rods and reef chilli every night and pellets several times a day. Any suggestions?

I did have an issue like this after Seachem strontium dosing but I attributed it to something else. If that cheato reactor of yours is working well it's possible PO4 was stripped too fast? Monti's stn'ing is pretty extreme so hopefully you can figure this out quickly.

You're not adding any AF additives at this point are you?

I hate issues like this. Could something have gotten into the water? Skimmer acting up? Carbon? Recent water change?

Should you water change now?

Should you add carbon?

Polyfilter?

Just dumping ideas.

I don't know how anything would have got into the water as I'm the only one that goes to the basement. My skimmer is producing skimmate at a normal level. I have not done a water change in 2 weeks. I am mixing one up now. I have some carbon in there passively. I'll put a tablespoon or 2 into a reactor and see if that has any effect good idea. I looked around last night for a poly filter because I try to keep one on hand but I couldn't find one so I know what I'm going to do at lunch now. Thanks for the suggestions they are all good! I'm just so very frustrated right now. I have a couple of frag packs that people have been hanging onto for months.

I'm going to do a massive sump clean out this weekend to see if that may help. Right now I'm just swinging at things.

I'm doubtful but it's worth a look through my notes. It's probably a combination of 0 po4s for a couple of days asking with other things. I did happen to leave my supplement led online for 24 hours straight. It's a ocean revive t247 and I was taking pictures with it on the sunny setting and forgot to sit it off. It was probably a contributing factor if not the main problem.

People always say montis are hardy but from my experience they are usually the first to show signs of a problem. Any chance your potassium suddenly went high or low? I read posts in the past where people had issues with Montis when their potassium was out of wack. I haven't experienced anything definitive with potassium but at one point I was trying to catch up on my potassium dose because it fell behind and it did seem like the montis were irritated.

Just a though not sure if it's worth anything... lol

I'll treat it tomorrow. It's been several months since I've done that pain in the but test.

My tank has been getting better by doing nothing. I have a 50 gallon water change made up to do tomorrow.

All the issues with high Nitrate 100 in March, changes in April with associated coral deaths, and various swings, doings, etc take a toll. Sometimes the STN you see today started from issues with chemistry a few weeks ago. SPS- stability promotes success.

After going back to basics for the last 7 to 10 days everything is looking better. I think stronium dosing has been the major culprit of the most recent issues. Some corals are growing in hyper drive now. Over the next week or so I will need to being my calcium reactor back online to promote stability.

It's nice to see test results that are the same as the ones before.
