Montis dying.... salt issue?

I am very happy to report that things are SLOWLY getting better. I only ended up losing a couple small pieces. Both the echinata colony and the elegans frag survived, and are recovering. Even the remaining brown smears of hologram monti have colored up again :)

I'm glad I did some reefcentral browsing!!

A few months back I switched salts from IO to OP/P. At first I didn't notice any major difference but then my huge sunset colony started browning out. It would gradually color back up then brown out again. Now the whole colony is brown/rtn. Another sister colony from the sunset is doing the same thing. My setosa just today started RTN. My verde also got RTN but has slowed up lately. It looked fine the other day but I've just done some large water changes with OP/P. I've been trying to figure out whats going on. I've got some cyno problem going on but nothing that I haven't dealt with before. Now that I've come across this thread it's making me think about going back to IO. I switched salts just for a change so I might be getting IO on the way home from work tomorrow and see if things perk up. It all started happening when I switched salts. Granted, it could be other things but makes ya think.

Some are recovering better than others...

I wish I would have stumbled on this sooner. So far I've lost my setosa, my superman is going, huge colony of sunset is completely gone, yellow tort is showing signs of STN, and my huge orange monti scroll went from huge and orange, huge orange/white.:headwally: I've switched back to IO. How long did it take till you saw signs of improvement. I'm trying not to do anything crazy but really want to tweak whatever I can to fix it, but I know some slow and steady water changes will be best.

Took 2-3 months to see some improvement, and obviously from my pics I still have a ways to go.

Have you maintained your vodka dosing through the process? I've been considering cutting back on mine, not sure if it's a good idea or not.

I did actually keep the vodka dosing going. But I did have to mess with my calcium reactor. With all the acros unhappy, they certainly were not growing, and I found my alk rising.
