moon lighting

hello all i have purchased a moon light setup for my 75 gallon reef (2 inch spacing)on a 4 foot strip there is 24 leds

I have been using them for 2 days

When i turn it on after lights out my corals do not close,i only keep it on for about 2 hours after lights out

I turn it back on in the morning and my corals open before the lights come on
I can dim the LEDs so they are not so bright
does this light count as lighting and if so should i cut my regular lighting period

I do not want algae out breaks

I only run my regular lights 10 hours(currently using a tek 8 lamp T5HO 54 watt system only using 4 lamps 8 is too much i have no sps)

Does anybody think the moonlights will cause any problems
thanks mike

I'm not sure about outbreaks but I will say that I have better PE now that I don't run moonlights. Everything closes up at night and opens wide during the day. Now I run the moonlights for one week a month (roughly) just to simulate some sort of lunar cycle.

6 years of moonlight use, on all night, with a fishbowl innovations moon computer to simulate moon phases...no problems.
