Moon lights?

Hi, just installed a Reefbreeders LED with moon light capability. It is fully programmable and my question is iit good to have moon light on all night or should a mixed reef with some fish get some total darkness? I have the moon light programmed for only 3% brightness but is on all night.
Thanks,
Azraz

My moonlights run all night, they are so low that from three feet away the tank looks completely dark. When you get close you can see everything in the tank just fine. I have been running my tank this way for almost a year and have seen no negative effects.

I have 2 EverGrow IT2080's over my tank and I have to run the moonlights at 1% in order to make them as dim as I want them. I do run them at 5% an hour after sunset and an hour before sunrise to create a bit of a dawn and dusk effect. I don't think the corals or fish and inverts care, but I think it's cool.

I think 3% on those fixtures is too bright IMHO maybe the inhabitants won't care but it just seems to bright. Even 1% seems too bright to me I wish it could go a little lower personally and the pain in the *** is if you put it at 0% it automatically goes on like 3% ....FYI this is on a photon32

I alwaysed wondered about this too. I currently run my photon 48 moonlights at 1% till 3am, but I'd like to run them longer, just didn't know if this would be ok for fish and corals.
