Moonlight phase not working after last reeflink software update

Has something changed with this new software update that is affecting my moonlight phase from working?

My schedule and graph is unchanged yet after the last software update which I did 3 days ago to the reeflink as requested when you log in my moonlight phase no longer works at all. I have changed no values. In the past after testing you had to run the brightness at at least 2% (1% would not allow the lights to come on/stay on) and the advanced sliders had to be at at least 10%. This is where I left the moonlight phase so it would come on at the lowest light value possible. The entire intensity of the lights is set at 25%.

Now I have no moonlight phase after the latest update. The settings I used to have that worked no longer trigger the moonlights to activate. And yes, the start and end values are set to the exact same value, nothing changed there. My schedule is exactly how it was before the patch update and the moonlights worked fine since I started using the lights about a year ago yet now they do not.

Anyone at ecotech know what you changed that is not allowing my old programmed setup to now work?

I have same problem, just started after time change, when i logged in to update clock.

as in the PM I sent you. No change something happened on the last download that has changed something all while just trying to upgrade the patch they supplied and to make sure the time change was showing on my programming. I even redid the program with the old minimum values that were working prior to the patch and no dice. No moonlight phase anymore. I will just have to try and make time for them to look at my settings via phone and have them tell me whats going on and why it happened if they can even figure out what has happened with the changes they made.

Alex yesterday you were in a meeting yet one of your staff logged into my program and made a couple changes. I have a long work day so I may be unable to reach you today yet I will try this afternoon. The changes they made to the graph failed. I still have no moonlight phase. I have no way to PM you so I wanted to update this thread and post.

The normal day graph works great. Lights come on and ramp up at 2:00 pm and ramp down and go off at 11:00 pm. From 11:00 pm to 2:00 pm I have no night mode and no moonlights.

This all happened on the last software update and our time change. Everything worked great prior to that. Its almost like you made changes to minimum light values that can be run with the lights and made these values higher or something.

Anyway I wanted to post an update since I may have a hard time contacting you until late afternoon if I can at all at your office and the changes your staff made DID NOT WORK.

Was up a little later last night, my radion went into normal moonlight mode till midnight, then went off by themselves, then came back on at 530 am has been doing this since last update done after time change.

They think my settings are way to low yet it worked fine for 7 months before this last update the way I had them set. When I get time I will follow his instructions and re-calibrate the lights, Maybe the download got corrupted somehow, Who knows. Once I do that I will post feedback here. As of now the normal light period works fine yet the moonlight phase does not work at all.

I will keep this thread posted on results once I do a factory reset and re-calibrate the 2 lights.

Please keep in mind that our Lunar Phases feature goes off the current moon phase in the northern hemisphere, which is currently less than crescent with a new moon approaching in a few days. The nighttime points that you define are at the full moon intensity. In other words, for most of the month your lights will run at a reduced intensity. It might be best to wait a few weeks until the moon phase reaches half in order to determine if the feature is working or not.

I do not use the lunar phase setting its kept off so unless your software is overriding my off setting this should not have anything to do with why the moonlight phase is not working. If the lunar phase is now an automatic feature that even if you have it set to off your program is not recognizing the off setting I have then that would explain it yet your staff already looked at my graph.

Alex, I followed all your instructions. I removed the two lights and re-calibrated each light. I completely reset my graph and at the sunrise and sunset points with the exact same values. I also made sure each value for the point (sunrise and sunset) were not only exactly the same but that 1 watt was being consumed and that the light was on and working with the blue spectrum at each point before setting. I reset the schedule and the normal daytime schedule works fine yet the moonlight phase which I have set to tun from Sunset to sunrise will not come on. Something has happened from the last software update that your firm provided that has destroyed the moonlight phase from running all night long, etc. Also as I noted I do not run lunar phase so none of that should affect how my lights are set.

I will try calling later today again to see if your tech guys can figure this out.

I have the same issue here...
Night mode settle to 100% blue spectrum to 2% intensity on sunrise and sunset points and lights wont come up...and it was working fine before...
Something that I've found was , if you click on the sunrise or sunset point or also on now point light will turn on but once you get out of the points lights go off....

@Alex, I still have also the problem with different intensity on Blue channels if you select 1% on Blue channel and max 20% on point and issue seems to be fixed when opposite is selected 1% intensity point and full 100% blue channel.

The staff changed my graph a little by adding a point yet basically they changed the values that could be a minimum value. Once they had my lights working overnight (last night) from the changes they made I started goofing around a little bit. I am someone that wants only a shimmer of blue light for moonlight mode over the entire lights off period. I have now noticed that they, in fact, did up the minimum values required from the original software settings they once had. I think you all can test this by going to 3 watt output on starting point, ending point and any middle point. The moonlights will come on and stay on. I think I can even get them to stay on with 2 watt settings. With this said, however, when you try and use 1 watt settings, which is what I really want, the lights will stay on if you select the individual point to see the brightness in the tank yet once you confirm the setting into the program it will not allow the light or lights to come on. I did get settings to work in this format:

Sunrise Point: starts at 2 pm each day
UV = 45
RB = 45
All other values = 0
Brightness = 2%
Watts = 1

Sunset Point: ends at 11 pm each night
UV = 45
RB = 45
All other values = 0
Brightness = 2%
Watts = 1

Now They added a point on my graph at 1:31 am. This is a key point since without it for some reason the moonlights will not come on and as of my testing so far I have yet to be able to get the lights to stay on unless this point is at 2 watts.

Point added at 1:30 am: I have changed the value from what ecotech set this at since the setting they used was 100% Blue and like 5 watts or something which was way to bright of an overall light scheme.
Setting currently working with noted settings above:

UV = 60
RB = 60
All other values = 0
Brightness = 3%
Watts = 2

This setup will keep my lights on yet I think its a little to much light or at least more then I had originally for the 7 months with these new pro lights.

The minimum values have changed. I am not sure it was by design to happen this way by the programmers yet it did. I hope my noted values above help everyone out. I am still trying to get less light in my aquarium throughout the moonlight phase. I have a 7 year old blue spotted jawfish that when no lights were coming on jumped out of the aquarium 2 times due to the dark environment it was not used to and my aquarium is in my bedroom and thank god I am a light sleeper and heard the loud noise to inspect and pick him up off the carpet 2 times grrrrrr before getting egg crate over the top. Anyway if anyone figures out how to get a lower spectrum then I have now please update the thread. I am trying to get just a shimmer type of moonlight over the tank not a lot of wattage blue etc.

I have done some tests today and it seems that new soft version is not handling anymore night mode as it was before.
Now you need to have another point after the sunset but this point must be added after the 24:00 on graph which is actually 0:00 on the left side
If not moonlight wont start...Example if you insert new point set at 00:01 light go on if you insert new point on before the 24:00 on graph moonlight wont start.
For sure there is also something on the Brightness and watts settings and calibration.
As wrote before, I still have the issue with RB lower brightness on one module. :sad2:
When tested the calibration RB channel. When I was asked at first time if I see the light on module that as the issue with lower RB , I immediately answered no, to see if the channel will raise brightness and I think he did, because just after that I went back to point and on RB channel set it to 50% with 1% brightness and only one module was working the other light with no issue on RB channel did not turn on.
So I went to the calibration on the module, and I have applied the same process as the other module and tested again the channel and both lights were turned on at this time with same values as tested before RB 50% with 1% brightness.

Here are my values now.

Point added at 3:00AM
RB = 50
All other values = 0
Brightness = 1%
Watts = 0

Sunrise Point: 09:00
UV = 65
RB = 65
All other values = 0
Brightness = 2%
Watts = 1

Sunset Point: 21:00
UV = 65
RB = 65
All other values = 0
Brightness = 2%
Watts = 1
