moonlight question

so i hear moonlights are supposed to be kept on 24/7... and i have 2 white LED moon lights, which IMO looks better than blue moonlights. now before the move into the new tank, my clownfish pair would sleep in their house (without moving) when it was pitch black (i'd see by flash light)

now with the moon light, they're in their house, but the female comes out most of th etime, just swims around the house, the male is inside and also comes out, they just keep swimming.....

will they ever sleep or is it because its still light (although very little and all my other fish (firefish and wrasse are sleeping))

should i turn the moonlights off after about an hour or just leave em on? they're designed to remain on for 24/7

i have a pair of tomatoe clowns, and the moonlites don't bother them, mine come on as soon as the main lights shut off, and why run moonlites 24 hours?, aren't we trying to simulate natural conditions also they wouldn't be visible once main lights are running.

I leave mine on 24/7 because I have been led to believe that they will run for a couple of hunderedthousand hours and use very little electricity. So I do it mainly because of laziness and not having another timer for the nightlights.
They are very nice to have on at night and give the livingroom a nice glow for when the kids wake up at night.

I'm going to tag along and see if anyone has input as to life of led bulbs and power use.

I noticed when using white LEDS that my fish did not seem to rest, with blue ones, they seemed to relax more and of course, with red ones thet didn't even notice the lighting.

ya, i'm with gina on this 1... i have the white lights, and it looks FANTASTIC, and i hate the blue moon lights... but like she said, my fish dont rest... well of the 4 fish ( 2 clowns, 1 wrasse, 1 firefish) only the clowns seem to not rest, the other 2 hide and sleep as soon as th elights go off.
