If i keep a dim moonlight on all the time will it aggravate my corals? Or confuse them? And would it promote algae growth? I wanna leave it on all the time but i am worried thay it will have my tank overgrown will algae and stress my corals

It will not 'aggravate' your corals, or confuse them and it will not promote algae growth. Many of us run moonlight (typically blue or violet) all night.

Just curious, why run them all night? I know they aren't bright, but why not give the fish a little time of darkness? Moonlights really aren't much more than aesthetics, don't see a need to run them when you are sleeping.

If your not checking the tank out I don't see any reason to run the moonlights either. The digital clock I have along with the light from the cable box, the GFCI and the power strip are my moon lights.

Hi Ron,

Just a quick question, what intensity should the lights run at? I do not have any ramp up/down option in my sbox 32 inch pro timer. I have kept both white and blue at 70% for the time being. I would like to have quick coralline algae growth.

I sent you a PM so we don't detract from the OP's thread.
