moonlights

you'll probably be looking at a new lighting system before they are shot. i leave mine on 24/7

If you don't have a means to cycle them on and off there should be no problem with leaving them on. They have a long life span.

Its great that they last so long and hardly use any electricity to run. I leave mine on 24/7 right now as well.

i personally would run them for a couple of hours after the main lights go out, but theres no problem with them on 24-7

i dont see a point to the moonlights,is there an article about them on here for the benefits
I personally use my moonlight for night viewing. I like to watch my urchin, shrimps and crabs come out and rule the night. It's like an entirely different tank at night.

As far as the beneficial qualities I don't know too much except its closer to mimicking nature.

I turn off the moonlights a few times a month to simulate an overcast.
