1. How is the 6500K T5 bulbs? I have heard that they encourage algae growth?

2. How is Jebo light? I'm thinking of getting an used Jebo 4 x 54W T5 setup w/o bulb for $20.

3. What should I get: the Jebo setup w/o bulb for $20 or a TEK5 4 x 54W T5 setup w/ 4 6500K for $150?

4. In a 4 x 54W T5 setup, what bulbs should I use? I saw there were 4 types of T5 bulbs and I want to know what is the best combination of 4 bulbs.

Thanks!

get the teck t5, , definitly a good buy with its reflectors, you could keep alot of things probally even sps high up, use URI 6500k bulb. ATI Aqua blue, and 2 ATI Actinic plus bulbs shoudl be a nice color

GE 6500K bulbs have awesome PAR and are cheap to boot.

A lot depends on how blue you want the tank to look.

I'd do 1 or 2 GE 6500k + 1 or 2 ATI BluePlus or AquaBlue (or one of each) + 1 URI Super Actinic

More 6500k bulbs will get you less blue, but more light/growth.

The main reason to not get the Jebo fixture is it doesn't have the reflector per bulb setup. The reflector per bulb setups are by far the best in terms of light output. Tek or Aquanitics (spelled wrong...) are excellent pre-made fixtures.

Hmm, from my understanding after reading briefly about the bulbs. The bulbs are ranged from brightest white to bluest:

Midday 6500K, Aquablue + (60% White + 40% Blue), Actinic + (40% Actinic + 60% Blue), Pure Actinic

Am I correct?

I'm thinking of going with this combination:

2 6500K's, Aquablue +, Pure Actinic

What do you think?

TIA!

I use JEBO 2 x 55w Actinics side-by-side w/ my Hammys 10K Halides. I mean for non-critical application they are fine. (ie. actinic supplementation for 3 hrs or so) I wouldn't trust them for full-time lighting, like 12+ hrs of continous use.......
