Ok, I thought i'd start this since i'll probably have a few more of these before i've finalized my part list.

For the OM Squirt with 3/4" intakes and outlets, is it OK to have a 3/4" strainer in the tank (1' long pice of 3/4" pvc drilled out to created a strainer effect?) Or, do I need 1"?

I plan to make the returns all 1" until right at the tank where they will reduce back to 3/4". So, is this same thing ok for the drain? i.e. 3/4" in the tank, but 1" for the ride down and then reducing back to 3/4" right at the squrit?

This is how I have my squirt set up on my 58g.

Mag 9.5 (.75") up to the return (in my case the tank is reef-ready). You can always change your mind later if you want to go with the (.75") but the 1" should be fine. I do remember that the Squirt has a 1" threaded inlet unless he changed that design.

In my opinion, call Paul at Oceansmotions (there is a toll-free number) and ask him how to plumb it.

From the website:

"The OM Squirt has both a 3/4 inlet and 3/4 outlets and operates like our 4 Way unit (Version 1) with the revolving drum sending water to 1 - 1/2 ports at a time."

But, you're probably right. I will give them a call and ask how to plumb it.
