We are planning a very special meeting of the Marion Ocala Reef Enthusiasts club. Our December meeting will be hosted by Jim Fitzpatrick and his lovely wife. They have a beautiful home with an absolutely amazing island style reef aquarium. The meeting is open to anyone wishing to get involved in our saltwater aquarium fish club.

I have created a Facebook Event in the club's Facebook page so you can go there and RSVP for the event. You can also express your willingness to attend right here on this thread.

There will be a presentation on modern saltwater aquarium filtration. There will also be door prizes, and lot's of great items in our $1 per ticket raffle. 2011 memberships will be available for purchase for $20 for an individual membership and $5 extra for any additional household family members who also wish to joi...n the club. We will also be taking nominations and voting for 4 club officer positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary & Treasurer) Officers will serve for the 2011 year and will be involved in running the club's business. Club officers will receive a complementary club membership for their year in service. Please do consider serving and having a role in establishing our club to succeed in years to come.

Our host has told me they plan to provide sandwiches and the likes. They request that those attending bring snacks, chips/dips, and desserts.

Please be sure to RSVP on our Facebook page as this makes planning much more manageable.
Jim's address is 1953 Hartford Path, The Villages, FL 32162

Don't forget, our Christmas meeting is this Sunday @ 3pm. Look on the Events tab for more info. You can also e-mail ocalareefclub@cox.net. The meeting will feature door prizes, some very nice raffle items such as a 160 gallon bucket of salt and a 32 in. aquarium grabber tool (keep your hands dry and let this tool reach and grab anything in your aquarium). Our fish store sponsors will be donating gift certificates and some really nice lifestock

But wait, there is more.....
An aquarium filtration presentation. Interested in incorporating a media reactor into your system? Bio-pellets? This and much more will be covered in the presentation.

I've also been informed that some nice coral frags will be available for purchase during the meeting. If you have some lifestock you want to sell, feel free to bring it to the meeting.

And most importantly, bring cash! 2011 memberships will be on sale for $20, and you'll want to make sure to have enough cash on hand to get that one of a kind coral frag.

As a show of appreciation to our current members who are intersted in renewing their membership, we will issue 2011 membership cards @ our Dec. meeting and accept an IOU until our January meeting. Again this would only be available to current members.

Bill @ Tanks A Lot has informed me that a reactor, complete with Brightwell's bio-pellets is going to be the grand-prize raffle item from Tanks A Lot. Bill has worked his connections with Brightwell to make this a reality for us. Note that this prize alone is worth around $130 and you could win it with the purchase of a $1 raffle ticket. Brightwell has also donated other items to be included in the raffle. Can't wait to see what Finn and Gils comes up with!

Whooo hoo man 'o man!!! It's gonna be a great meeting tomorrow. Lot's of goodies for the raffle. All the pieces fell into place for this one. You are really missing out if you don't make it.

Also gonna be some great discussions....

What a great meeting! Thank you Jim & Gail for being such wonderful host. Thank you Barbara & Michelle for helping out with things today. The raffle items were really sweet for this meeting and I want to make sure I thank Tanks a Lot and Finn & Gils for their support of the club and for donating items for our raffle. And one more shout out to Bill Doerfler for all he has done to help our club and for yet another great presentation.
