Most colorful fairy/ flasher wrasses...

Interesting... I guess that I'm on borrowed time. I assume that you've kept then with other Cirrhilabrus?

I have about 40 wrasses out of 80 total fish, I'd say at least 25 are Cirr. and the orangebacks always lost color...maybe the other 'super males' were more dominate, but there was no fighting.
 
Several months ago I lost a number of wrasses due to a velvet outbreak. Since then it has has only been housed with flashers so maybe that is part of it. We will see what happens once I start adding fairies again.

Absolutely.

Aurantidorsalis only maintains color when it's the dominant wrasses in the system. And they're a pretty passive species, relative to it's cousins.

Tim Morrissey keeps color in the species (and gorgous, at that btw) because the tank is huge, achieving the same thing. :)
