Look at he small blue lid as a reference. The length of growth isn't that impressive....about 2 inches in 12 weeks, but the pure mass change is absolutley mind blowing.

There's gotta be some giant gigas out there. Any pics of long term growth would be great. I'd like to see some real world examples of how big people have been able to grow their gigas and how long it took.

I have a 265 just waiting to for this one when it outgrows the 120, but I think I have a few years before that happens!

Acro these are gorgeous!!! What do you keep your Ca and Alk and what do you do to keep them there?

Thanks Rico, My alk is usually around 4.0meq/l I don't monitor calcium. I use a calcium reactor. It's an old K2R which really needs to be put to rest and I need to make a larger one.

mbbuna, The larger 2 maxima's have been with me for over 7 years and to be honest I don't remember where I got them from.

Hopefully this will show up. More growth pics since August .

I finally put her in the 265. Any tricks for increasing their growth rate? I'd like to see how fast I can get it to grow. I wish I knew how to work my camera better, the pics from the top are abosolutely gorgeous, with brilliant blue/green spots all over. I made a moveable rock structure so I can give her about 2.5' to grow as it's needed. Wishful thinking now, but who knows?

They love Kalkwasser, I drip it at night, I've got a calcium reactor, but my growth rates really took off after I started dripping Kalk.
My problem is I don't have a 265 gallon tank waiting. My giggas and a couple of Squamies I have may be too big by next year.
Sorry no pics, don't know how to resize them.
