I have scheduled a behind the scenes tour at Mote Marine on August 9th at 9am. I realize that this is an early time for us but I was asked to start the tour at 8am and I told our tour director, Shawn Garner that it would be really hard for all of us "northerners" to get there that early. They open the doors at 10am and had wanted us to have as much time to ourselves before the crowd came in as it is a Saturday. The tour takes about 3 hours I am told, so we should be finished by 12:30 or sometime within that time frame.
Our monthly TBRC meeting happens to be at Greg's house (ah64av8tor) in Bradenton at 2pm so that gives us plenty of time to make the meeting at 2pm.
Whomever is intersted in joining us for the tour please pm me as I really need a head count by August 1st as requested by Shawn Garner.
The cost has been reduced for the TBRC and the Anchor Club.
Adults (13 and up) $10
Children (4-12) $8
under 4 free
I hope that many of you will take this opportunity to see the wonderful work that Mote Marine does.
I have also requested that if at all possible could we possibly see the 2 pigmy whales that have been rescued. Right now I am told that they are in lockdown and have contacted pneumonia. They have only been viewed by video but just maybe they will be better by then and we will be the lucky ones to see then up close!
Thanks everybody and hope to see you there.
Sue
