mounting Clams on rock

does anyone have any suggestions on the best methods? I have 2.5 inch (young) clams and they keep pushing themselves off the rocks.

when they are happy with light/current/food supply/etc......... they will attach on their own and stay attached.

place a shell under them on the sandbed till they attach then move them to where you want it. if it moves agian, its not happy with that spot.
