Mounting frag help

Not Quite Right
Stlouisguy,

I am having trouble keeping that neon green softie mounted. I rubber banded it to the plug you gave me but after a few days the part under the band disintegrated and it flopped loose. Nothing worse that a floppy softie. Any thoughts as to how I can keep it in place? Pictures would be helpful.

Thanks... even though its not stuck to a rock it is doing great. I wouldn't mind getting another frag at the frag swap.

I take very thin fishing line, 1 or 2 lb and take a sewing needle and sew them through there base and around a rock till they grow on then I snip the line

wrap the frag and the rock you want it on in tulle and let it sit for a little while and voila

here is a pic of tulle, you can get it at any hobby/craft store or bridal area, I use it all the time for shrooms...not sure if it'll work for this frag, but I see no reason why it wont

OK...

OK...

So my follow on question. Is there something about the rubber band that is causing it to damage the bottom?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

what happens when you have a tight rubber band around yoru finger?

maybe is the same for corals.....I dont know, though

I forgot to say: If you stick the frag into the hole you have your plug in it will attach in a couple of days. I did this with my last one and it was attached in no time. Place it in kind of a no flow or low flow area where it will not be blasted out of the hole. Don't be shy to jam it in there...

you can put the frag and a rock inside a cup and cover it with the tulle I referenced also

that pretty much cuts off all current, but still provides water exchange and the frag is "trapped" in there with the rocks

this is why I hate soft frags, they're such a PITA
