Mounting T247's over my 180 gallon - help!

I'll probably make up my mind within the next week or two on how I want to go with the supports. I've got some deciding to do!

I'll shoot you a message with dimensions if I decide to go with something custom welded. :-)

I was already looking to use some 80/20 as tracks for the lights within the canopy so I'd the ability to adjust them a little bit. What type of extrusion do you think would work well for the larger L brackets themselves?

Extruded aluminum works well too.

So you think if I form a 90 degree with the 80/20 to make 3 brackets that they would support up to 40 pounds of canopy and equipment?

I believe that Grainger sells 80/20 here in the metro area, do you know anyone else who carries it?

Thanks! Lots of good information there. Now I just have to find a local dealer that stocks 80/20 other than Grainger. It would be nice to go in and talk to someone who knows how to work with the stuff and has some in stock so I can see it and figure out exactly all the pieces I'd need before I buy it.

Nobody really just has this stuff on the shelf. The main distributer in the saint Louis area is Neff press. They do not have a store front and are just a supplier. I use this stuff through work. An online retailer is your best bet.

Thats good to know. Is it priced pretty much the same on every site or is there one where it's cheaper than another? The few I've checked so far all seem to price it out about the same.

I just looked at their website. They have a great selection of aluminum products at reasonable prices. It doesn't look like they stock 80/20 products though.

Depending upon what I decide to do, if it turns out that I just need to buy some square tubing or rails, Shapiro seems like a great place to buy it at a reasonable price.

Did you try Shapiro metal?

It is industrial so more than likely there are not any places to check it out in person. There are tons of websites that cut to order and have all there associated pays and pieces.
