Mounting very large frags

I have a large frag of a green milli. It is 3" x 4". What would be the best way to mount? I don't think super glue will work.

Superglue should not be an issue, just dry the area well and let the glue thicken for a minute before placing on the rock. I have glued wild colonies before and it was not an issue.

p.s.---Thick superglue gel

This works for me every time--

Find a piece of rock/rubble big enough to support the frag but small enough to position easily.

Drill a hole in the rock about the size of the "stem" of the frag, fill liberally with superglue gel, and stick the frag in.

You'll find this method leads to rapid encrusting, and allows you to move the frag/colony around a bit to find where it's most content. Looks much more natural that a big wad of epoxy--and keep in mind epoxy will sometimes RTN the frag as it gives off heat while curing. I only use epoxy to fix down the rubble the frag is attached to. A dab of super glue gel on either side of the epoxy makes it hold much better underwater.

Thanks for the tips. Is it a good idea to try and lightly wedge the frag in a space?

You can wedge the coral but the flow always seems to loosen it so it doesnt encrust and will lose some tissue.

I use regular super glue. find a rock with small crevice that would fit the stump of your frag. Wedge the stump into the crevice and put some dry sand onto the area where you want it to join the base/rock. Drip a few drops of superglue onto this dry sand. Add more sand and superglue slowly to build up a small base that is perfectly molded to your frag stump. The superglue hardens withing 1-2 minutes. Just make sure the surfaces are dry before you start. Use a small papertowel to dab the work area. I've used this method to secure frags up to 6-7 inches. If it falls off, it's very easy to put the frag back on with a few drops of superglue gel since you have a molded base to attach the frag now.
