My clown has the same thing but much worse, it's all around his mouth, looks like some tissue actually fell off and I can see his teeth, this morning he wasn't able to close it, I dosed the QT with paraguard this morning and when I got back from work tonight he was able to open and close his mouth, so that's a good sign.
Good luck.

what else are you doing?
I did a 20% water change this morning before dosing and plan on doing a 20% water change weekly, my salinity right now is 1.022, someone suggested hypo and dosing but I'm going to see how the rest of the week goes.
When diagnosing newly acquired clownfish, the first thing I always look for is Brooklynella. You can Google that and find a lot of info/pics for comparison. A lot of times a simple formalin bath will confirm or deny Brook; in the same manner a f/w dip can confirm gill flukes.
If you rule out Brook, all you are really left with is a bacterial (or in very rare cases fungal) infection. Best way to treat for that is to use a broad spectrum antibiotic in QT. Look for something like Furan-2, Kanaplex or Maracyn Plus at your LFS.
I would keep an eye on it, if it's an infection it will take awhile for it to heal.
Sadly for me, my clown died, but the other one is doing fantastic. We've come to the conclusion that the dominant clown attacked the other one while they were bagged up on the way home, which is probably why I didn't notice anything that dramatic on its face. I'm just keeping it under observation while my tank cycles.
Good luck & speedy recovery!
