I just picked up this frag from a buddy of mine! thanks Nathan....and it is absolutely stunning! Im just kidding about the ppe thing but its got that same deep purple disk with almost a baby blue mouh and a stunning orange skirt!!! and for me when Io think colors green is the last thing I want to add to my tank so enjoy!!!! I hope you guys like them and if anyone else has them maybe you could tell me a little about what conditions they do well under!!!!

thanks guys! Its still too early to tell but what I have seen of the lunar eclipse is mostly a speckled disk but very similar in color! we will have to see if they develop the speckled disk in the future! right now its more a solid purple disk with a slightly blueish muth!! LOL, if that makes sense!
 
I like those much better then the speckled ones....That really does look like PPE with an orange skirt instead of green. Now if they only had an orange mouth....That would be hot....

nice frag. i think they are the same as the speckled ones for the most part. prob just stress from shipping and/or too much light from wherever they came from.

the speckled and non-specked versions of the lunar eclipse both seemed to come into the reefing scene at exactly the same time, so that tells me they are coming from the same source.
 
I'm sure they are the same......I think the solid purple in the middle is much nicer then the speckled color morph....It is less muddied looking.
 
I agree with both of you on both sperate points, they probably are the same but I do like the solid purple look alot better! I think Im going to try a little experiment with them! oncce I have enough polyps to frag I am going to put some in one of my close freinds tank for a back up, then I am going to frag them up and place them in different areas in the tank! one in higher and lower flow...one up close to surface and one on sand bed! and one in my nano wich happens to be a bit dirtyier! I want to see how many morphs I can come up with.....
 
same thing? picture under 14k no actinics at all. When I add them under VHO they color glow just like yours.

I recently got my dirty paws on a frag of those from a fellow reefer here. They are so nice. Possibly the nicest paly I have ever owned.

I think they're prettier then PPE's. I think the further away each color is on the ROYGBIV scale, the prettier. Orange and violet, is almost polar opposites.
