Moving a 10 gallon fish tank

I have just set up a 10 gallon aquarium. I've added the conditioner, bacteria promoter, gravel, plants etc. I am now waiting for the water to "mature" I guess before adding fish. Only problem is, I now need to move the tank from my kitchen to my living room. It's about 20 feet. Is there an easy way to do this? Is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to take out the water? Will it actually crack the silicone seals? I feel like, because the tank is fairly small, me and a friend could move it without emptying it. If not, can I take the water out, then re-add the same water to the tank? The reason I would want to put the same water in is so I don't have to wait another week to introduce fish to new water, as my current water is nearly ready for fish. If I do have to take the water out, do I have to take it all out?

What I have in my tank:

10lbs gravel
1 small castle
3 plastic plants

Uhhh not sure if this is serious or not, but yes go ahead move it carefully, or if you want take the water out and put it back in.... Or just add new sw, up to you. this is a saltwater tank you're talking about?

Don't know why you wouldn't know if it's serious....I've heard you can't move it with water in it so I'm just making sure:spin2:

When I recently moved my 10g I pulled 3-4 gallons out so when I moved the tank the water didn't splash out. Save the water in a bucket and pour it back in once you get the tank where you want.

It's only 10g. I would drain as much as possible into 5g buckets, move it to the new location, and put the water back in. I doubt the water weight would cause an issue but why chance it?

Drain some water, maybe leave half. It won't hurt anything for the 15 minutes it takes. If you leave it full you are setting yourself up for disaster.

Thanks for your input everyone! Sounds like the best course of action is to let out some water and move it half full. I'll let you know how it goes.
