Moving a claim

Whats the best way to move a claim i have a maxima on a rock and i dont wanna just pull him off his foot is attached im afraid i may kill it. Is their any secret to getting them to release?

when I need to move my mushrooms i gently massage the base of them with a el-chaepo vibrating toothbrush. The vibrations make the foot of the shroom contract and release. Disclaimer I have absolutely no experience with clams---this could be the worst advice ever.

if you can't move the rock, you can cut the byssal thread. using a sharp knife / razor cut the threads as far from the clam and as close to the rock as you can, this wont hurt the clam.
