hey i just got my first clam yesterday and i set it in the sand. I got some clam pedistals from a buddy of mine in town and needed to move the clam so it could be on the pedistal. I could tell he had started to put his foot down to the bottom of the tank but i slowly lifted him up and put him on the pedistal. Is this ok???

I hope so

Thanks

Hey clown, it should be fine :). When i swab tank i pulled one of my clam foot off by accident but he doing fine afterward, except the foot is missing :)

ok cool thanks....yea it didnt pull the foot off i mean i could still see it after i moved it just there were a few threads coming off of it. Still responds to light and looks good so im sure its ok im just paranoid because its the first clam i have put into my tank. I mean i have had them in the LFS that i workded at but never in my own system.

Thanks

NEVER pull on a clam thats attached. if you need to move a clam that is attached, tip it to one side and cut the byssal threads as far away from the clam as you can

ok thanks what damage did i do??? he is out perfectly today and looks as cool as ever!

Heres a pic but it doesnt show how green and crazy bright it is
