Hi all
We sold our house and will be moving to rental until we find something we like in area we are moving.
Right now, I have a 20 gallon Xhigh with live rock, 10 gallon sump filled with live rock, hang on back filter and protein skimmer. Tank has been running healthy for 6 years.
The tank currently has a Picasso clown, royal gramma and yellow clown goby, peppermint shrimp, two scarlet hermits and a bunch of snails... cerith, nassarius, neirte, turbo. Fish only, no reef.
Would I be able to safely downsize them to a 10 gallon tank with only the live rock and hang on back filter? (tank is a bit overkill right now for 3 fish)
If I downsize to 10 gallon, should I get new sand or can I use what is bottom of sump?
How long would it need to cycle if use current sand, current live rock and old water?
Was thinking Bio-cube Or the Fluval edge tanks... can they be used for salt? ...but I have a 10 gallon tank and couple HOB filters that maybe I should do in meantime until get settled in new house so I can get a BIG tank.
thank you thank you in advance for any help or insight.
