Greetings all!
I have very sad news to report. My contract here in Orlando did not get renewed and I am moving to Eastern Ohio (Youngstown) next year. That position is again only a one-year contract so I may be moving at this time next year as well. I really LOVE Orlando and will dearly miss ORCA. :sad2:
My fiancee and the kids will be staying in Orlando for the next year (for reasons I don't feel like listing here) and she is not willing to take care of my tank.
Being that I will be living in a small apartment next year, and moving twice in the next 14 months, I just cannot justify (or afford) moving my 125 tank 900 miles and then who knows how many miles next year.
So I, reluctantly, am going to sell my tank and most of the inhabitants along with the majority of the equipment. I plan to downsize and take a few of the select inhabitants (or frags) with me.
Here is a description of what I will be selling (Equipment):
125 gallon tank (standard 6' long with predrilled holes and built-in corner overflow)
CUSTOM solid oak stand and top built by yours truely
40 gallon sump/fuge
ASM G3x Skimmer
Two metal halide pendants with electronic ballasts (one 250w and one 175w)
LED Moonlights
HOT filter
Large calcium reactor with all necessary equipment
return pump
Various powerheads
misc supplies
Brief list of livestock:
about 150 pounds of WELL ESTABLISHED live rock (with multiple types of coralline)
Over a dozen different stony & soft corals
Several RBTA's
Live sand
Fuge inhabitants (macro algae, ect)
Fish (this list may change pending on the tank I get)
Yellow tang
Foxface
Neon dottyback
Coral beauty (AWESOME Coloration)
Green Chromis
I have assembeled this system for the past 5 years so I really am heartbroken to see it go. Parting it out is not an option. As you all well know, this is an expen$ive hobby so I have spent thou$ands on my system over the years. I have only top-end equipment as well. Have not had a single disease or parasite in years (good QT habits).
As for price, I really don't know yet. Even at $4 a pound, the LR alone is worth $500. Add to that the corals and fish along with all the equipment (some less than a year old), it adds up.
Here is a pic of it just after we moved here 10 months ago. I have since added more corals, upgraded the lighting so there are more corals and the existing ones are much larger now.
PM me if interested and we can talk or arrange a visit.
I will also be at the Frag event this weekend so feel free to approach me then.
As for downsizing, I am looking for something in the 40-50 gallon range, perhaps a cube. If anyone has one laying around, let me know.
Thanks and I will dearly miss everyone from ORCA.:sad2:
