Hey guys, I'm not really new to the hobby but I am moving and obviously will be bringing my tank with me and I have some questions. I have two tanks, one is 88 gallons and one is 20 gallons. both are FOWLR tanks.
for the 20, I'm just going to empty half way, move the rock to a safe place, remove the fish and once I get to the new house I'll just put them back in. it is stocked with 2 red firefish, 1 blue sapphire damselfish, 1 sixline wrasse and an assortment of snails and crabs.
I have to admit that the 88 has not been taken care of very well and I almost want to start from scratch with it. I want to empty it completely and clean the glass and rinse the rocks. There is diatom algae everywhere. I have a 10g tank over at the new house that is already cycled and ready for fish that I believe my fish can live in temporarily while the tank cycles again. I currently only have 2 clownfish, 1 banghai cardinal, 1 sixline wrasse, 1 chocolate chip star and 1 scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp. I have plenty of live rock in the 10 gallon for hiding for the fish to feel comfortable. I would just like to know what your comments, thoughts and/or concerns are on my plans.
any feedback, whether it be positive or negative, is greatly appreciated. Thanks
