Moving.......... read on

Hey guys and gals, I bought a house in Republic and have moved everything but my 180gal. So far I have 3 guys and 1 maybe on moving my tank from Aurora. This is an old school oceanic 180 that I have Eurobraced and such, so it weighs about 600lbs empty due to it's thick glass.

I am doing this Saturday, April 21st. If you are interested, pm me. People who are interested are meeting at Matt's store and leaving w/him after he closes @6pm. There will be a car pool I believe. Coral and fish should already be moved, all I need help with is the tank and stand. I will try to work something out if you can help as far as frags or something, just PM me.

I am not looking for someone to just stand around to try and get something free. This tank is heavy and has to be turned sideways to fit out the door due to PVC flex hose plumbing and bulkheads from the overflow.

So again, PM if you are interested, and I will post if/when I have enough people.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be more than happy to help, but I work friday & saturday nights (3rd shift), so it would be like a normal person moving a tank at 3 in the morning.. Wish I could help!

I have a truck, and Matt has his. I'm looking into borrowing a trailer from a friend if I can work that out.

Thanks for the offers, I'll be sure to take care of those who can help!

Will work for frags

I need one of those bumper stickers.

I would like to help I just need a little more for a time frame. How far away is Aurora. What is the drive time between there and republic? If I were to go I would need to talk my wife into giving up some of her Saturday night from me or have her make some plans. (no one wants an upset wife) Thanks

Aurora is about 25 to 30 min from springfield. It will probably take about 30 min to get the tank out and a 15 min drive back to republic and then probably 45 to get the tank in the new house.

I would figure we leave springfield around 6:15 get to daves at 6:45 - 7 pm and leave there by around 8. Drive back to republic and start at 8:30. Tank should be in by 9:30 at the latest I would think.

Providing dave has all the coral and water and sand out of the tank.

Get on it!

Righteo mate!

I really appreciate the overwhelming support from the SEAS! It's always nice to have someone there to watch your back.

I could help later on that evening once you're in Republic - maybe helping setting stuff back up? I'll keep an eye on how things are shaping up - I've found there IS such as thing as too much help :bum:

Good luck with the move, though!

like steve said, it looks like this party might be full up, but if you need it the suburban is a good thing to haul **** like this in, imo less chance of getting it damaged than in a pickup bed.

buuut its also a ***** on gas

kb0vhy and I may swing by as well. My situation depends on what the wife wants to do - she's the boss on days when it's just the two of us :bum:

So far I have 3 total, still....... Matt, Chris and myself. It's getting close to crunch time here. I guess we'll see who steps up to bat.

Bump w/updated info.

Matt is going to close the store early to help since it doesn't look like there's going to be much turn out and neither of us want to be up till the butt crack of dawn doing this. Anyone wanting to help, be at Matt's Aquatics & Exotics by 3:30pm. If you have an extra truck to carry equipment, then that'd be great. We don't need a trailor or anything, just something to hold random equipment and coral.

Also, since we are starting earlier, I won't have it broken totally down, so you may get to help w/that, which is where lot's of fraggin' occurs!!!

So anyway, just show up if you want to help.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
