Moving tank/reassembling tank

Hi guys,

A few months ago I acquired a good 300litre tank, skimmer, hydra 52 light etc for an absolute bargain.

I pretty much rushed everything from the start of getting the tank purely just excitement, I was like a kid in a toy store setting everything up. Expecting everything to just grow and be successful..

I'm not saying it isn't working but I honestly think it could be a whole lot better. Eg my aquascaping, plumbing out the back, refit all the baffles on my sump (as its my old 100litre glass aquarium with very simple diy acrylic baffles)..

All this I'm guessing will take a few days to do patiently and right this time!

Now I do have a spare 250litre basic tank a friend gave me that I can place next to the existing tank drain majority of water out into it and have the fish and Corals in there with power heads running and I'm fortunate enough to have a skimmer that can hang on back or go in sump.

Any risks involved?

So you are redoing your main tank completely? Keeping the sand, rocks though?

It would help if you could move some of your rocks to the temporary tank as well since they often have the beneficial bacteria. Try to match temperature between the two as well.

Yes. Rocks I will be keeping. Sand unlikely.
