Ok so I currently have an 80Gal Bowfront but will be moving to a 220Gal in about 6 weeks or less depending on the cycle time and so on.
I have never ever seen Ich in my tank until I got a Hippo Tang about 1 month or so ago. I thought I saw it on my Coral Angel but noticed after 2 days the spots moved. It is always swimming on the rocks nipping around so it was just crust or whatever haha.
So I was looking at the Hippo and these white bumps seemed to puff off the skin a little so I was like oh crap. Well it vanished and it seems once in a blue moon it comes back as 3 dots or 4 dots but always goes away.
I will add I have a big Damsel that is not going with because he is a jackwagon and no-one is safe around him. The tank has mated clowns, the hippo, coral beauty and a flame angel, a 6 line, a royal gramma and a fox face and never do I see any issues except for that damsel. I see him bother everyone pretty much.
I was thinking well maybe I could quarantine all the fish before I move them but that would probably require me to remove everything from the 80Gal and refill it with water only to keep the fish in. With no biological filter how could I possible keep all those fish for 2 months.
I know any fish could have Ich but not one other fish has ever even showed any signs. I am going to be adding 3 more Tangs at the time they all go in the new tank and taking out the Damsel. One other Damsel vanished so the tank was supporting more fish and when I move them it will only be like 1 or 2 extra fish but in a 220.
Anyone think I am wasting my time by doing this or maybe putting them at greater risk.
I wanted a Powder Blue and if any fish will come with it or get it that is the number one fish. Some people think no-one should have one but many people I have spoken with say they have no issues with theirs.
Thanks
