Moving to Chicago soon

Hey guys I'm in Memphis, Tn and I plan on moving to Chicago in December and I'm just thinking ahead. Right now I'm running a 30 gallon setup with alot of SPS and some LPS and zoas. I have a 75 gallon that I have to drill and get running that I plan to move up to when I get to Chicago. My only worry is keeping my corals alive long enough for me to setup the 75 and get the water established. This might seem a little over the top but I have some really rare pieces that I have grown alot and I don't want to lose them. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Welcome to IL. Lots of awesome reefers in the area. Depending on where you will be moving, I'm certain someone can help you babysit the corals till you are back online. I'm willing to help out too if you are moving anywhere around where I live.

Thank you so much. I just don't want to have to reset up my 30 and run two systems. If I had to I would but that would be great. I think it's Batavia that I'm moving to. I'm not familiar with that area at all.

I live in Naperville, which isn't too far from Batavia. Depending on the size or the pieces, I have some room in my tanks.

i would keep your corals in memphis, get your tank running up here, then fedex your corals less stress on them

The problem is I don't have the money or time to go up there to set it up and then come back then ship them. That's what I was going to do but with my work schedule I don't have time to do all that.

I moved from Knoxville a few years ago. I lost a bunch of coral in transit. The biggest problem was the summer sun. I was also moving 5 systems, so that complicated the issue. I set up my 75 and then transferred everything into it after the first bungle. Good luck with the move.

maybe call a few LFS and see if you can buy some established water to reduce your cycle.

I will have my prop tank ready soon and live in Aurora/Batavia. I will be using a 250w halide

I'm looking at setting up a 300g over the summer and leaving my 180g up for a little while. I should have more then enough room to hold some corals for you if you need. I live about 45min from Batavia. I hate to ask though, why move to the land of high taxes and public sector corruption? If I could move down to TN I would be down there in a minute.

If you lived in memphis for a few years its not a good place lol it's too much crime. It is cheap but there's not much going for this city. I really appreciate all tr support. Plus i got a job setup In Chicago and my girlfriend is from there.
