Yes but less dead spots. Trust me. Less dead spots in a tank are more important than more flow and more dead spots. Plus you can keep anything flow wise in the tank you want. Les money, less dead spots. You will find that in that size tank you will have more dead spots for flow with one mp40 compared to two mp10. Either way you can't go wrong with Vortech. Simply the best power heads out there. You will be happy with your choice.

I got a 75 gallon Elos tank and was considering 2 MP10's but the thickness is just under 1/2 inch and I was afraid of them falling. I have 1 Mp40 and I use it in Reefcrest mode and set the max at about 75%. The opposite side of tank gets lower flow but I have lower flow corals there anyway.

2 mp40s are a much better option.

I had 2 mp10s on a 40g breeder and it was great but it would never been enough on anything too much larger.

I switched to tunze and haven't looked back.

Which Tunze model do you recommend?

I just set up a 93g 30x30x24(high). I have two MP-10's from my previous tank. Should I just add a third MP-10 or do you suggest a Tunze?

I would run two mp10s. I have used one mp40 in a 4 foot tank. Then i switched to two mp10s. Seems like the mp10s did a better job. I think two mp40s would be a bit much unless you run all sps.

This question I have pondered for a few days now. I am thinking 2 10w's, but the mechanic part of me says that having 2 40w's would be quieter and run less hard on the Motor. I have a 75 so for me the 40W set lower as needed would work (cost more, but be completely served with purpose) sigh ...and then get the other later

The savings is tempting but I can read into the experience here and have learned before with an open ear. If I had a 13 inch tank less than 48 inches long ...well that would be different. I love this kind of post that helps readers having the same questions.

The only way you could use an MP40 on a tank that shallow is if it were bare bottom. If not it soon would be.
