UPDATE:

Option 1: ARC group buy is as follows.......$40 per pump plus $15 shipping per pump to Atlanta. Of course we would need to pay the additional fee to ship our entire group's purchase to New York (shouldn't be crazy). That's $55 per pump plus the add'l shipping. WE have a deadline of March 25th to provide a total number to ARC if we want to tag along.

Option 2: Fishstreet Group Buy If we purchase more than 40 then the price is $62.50 each pump plus shipping of $15.25 each pump.....Total of $77.25 each unit. 2 to 3 week back order on the pumps.

Option 3: DIRECT GROUP BUY with Jebao. I am assuming the same shipping but have not confirmed that with Jebao....I have received an email that the price is $40 each pump.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO? TIME IS TICKING SO CHIME IN QUICKLY !!!!!

I'd say this really all comes down to are the 25 definite, if they are we go option 3; if not option 1 and who ever wants in PayPals the contact at ARC directly so no one is left hanging. The extra shipping can be collected at pickup, whatever it is using the pump as collateral should make laying the funds easy.

Joe.....Jebao did not specify a minimum however I inquired about that. Currently the shipping price at ARC is $15 each with approximately 60 pumps being ordered. I initially told Jebao under 100 but sent another email asking if they have a minimum.
Regarding option 1: I'm not sure that the ARC individual who's running the group buy would appreciate every individual here paying him directly...it's more work for him.....I think he wants a total # and 1 coinciding payment from me.

Hopefully Jebao gets back to me timely so we can make a decision well in advance of the 3/25 deadline for ARC. They typically answer in 24 hours due to the time difference.

Do I need to contact RC for an official group buy thread (when we decide)?

More Info to take into consideration:
ARC informed me that there was a bulk shipping rate for under 200 pumps. They divided the number of pumps they are going to order by that price ($1,000 yes $1,000) and that came out to the $15 each pump shipping cost. IF we do our own group buy with Jebao and only have 25 pumps ordered OUR shipping will be $40 each NOT $15. So this may be an incentive to go with Option 1 above. I confirmed that ARC will only accept 1 large order which will be shipped to me so everyone can't send paypal directly to their organizer. In addition, they are no longer accepting other reef club to tag onto their group buy because it is getting to be a monumental task. We are in if we choose so but the deadline is Monday.

Since there hasn't been an overwhelming response here.....I am pulling out of creating and organizing a group buy. If someone wants to take over then shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to give you all the contact info and prices.
