MP40 driving me nuts :(

I have a brand new MP40W on my tank hooked to the WXM module for Apex. No issues. To increase flow, I purchased a used MP40. It is a 2011 model (http://ecotechmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/MP40-Manual.pdf).

When I try to hook to WXM, per the instructions here: http://www.neptunesystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/WXM_manual.pdf

It flashes blue/red, meaning it failed, instead of the blue/yellow.

It's about 4 feet from the module (other side of tank)

Ok.. it seems this is on software version 2.2 .. according to counting the green and blue per the manual. Attempting to update firmware but it never leaves the red/yellow flashing. I guess I am curious, if I can't add it to the WXM, how would it ever update the firmware? Are the instructions assuming it's already connected?

I would recommend doing a hard reset on the controller to see if this makes a difference.

I am a little confused here

You bought the mp40 from me. And said it has done nothing but flashed red since you recieved it. But reading this thread that is not true. When we spoke today you said it won't give any color but red. But
You obviously had it working and tried to synch it. And then looks like you crashed the driver trying to do a firmware upgrade. And now want to return it?? What's the real story here. Kinda shady

It had to be working correctly for you to get the firmware version when powering it up

Hey .. sorry, I didn't see this. I got it, counted the lights when it came on and wouldn't sync. Based on greens it was 2.2 I tried to sync, as I told you to WXM, and nothing happened. I was told it was because it wouldn't boot up and it was red.

So, no idea man .. it's not working. I sent it back to you. If you think I caused it, whatever .. it was $225 .. I can only tell you what I did .. I'll give you a jingle because now I feel like you think I am a liar.
