MP40 issues

I have a new mp40. I've got it on 3/8" glass, and it just barely holds itself up. Is this normal with this thickness of glass?

Also, it's in my living room, and It makes enough noise that I don't even run it near as high as I'd like to, because of the noise.

If you use the peel and stick tabs and zip tie the cord on the dry side above it, the wet side should stay attached.

Something is wrong, I have 3/4 glass and my MP40w stays on with np.

You set the spacing correctly?

If you doing that, then something is wrong.

Those stick tabs are design to keep the dry side from hitting the ground, not hold it up.

True, but it also keeps the weight of the cord from pulling the dry side down.

I don't seem to have any problem with my MP 40's.

When you say new, are you talking a brand new QD model MP40? If so, something is amiss because the pump should easily stay attached on 3/8" glass and be essentially silent. As noted, are you using the correct spacer?
