MP40 or 2 MP10's in 30 gallon sps?

As the title says, would it be better to have one mp10 on each end of the tank, or one mp40 dialed way back? Im only asking as I've never used Vortech pumps, so i don't really know exactly how powerful they are. I know the mp10s will work, but by the time i get 2 of those, i could just buy the MP40 with the wireless controller.

Thoughts? The tank is 36x12x17 if that helps

Sorry to post these basic questions, but id love to hear opinions before i spend over $400 on power heads! lol

Thanks guys!!

If i go with mp40, i think it would be cool to be able to turn it up to stir the detritus up so it goes into the sump... just one thought on that

Get two MP10s. It'd be better to have two sources of flow vs just one. MP10s are really powerful and one could be more than enough if you had it up all the way. MP40 would be too much IMO

Thanks! I wasn't exactly too sure how far back an mp40 could be dialed without creating dead spots on the other end of the tank. And having never seen mp10's running in person, i wasn't sure on those at all.

Ya MP10s are a lot more powerful than people think, get those. I have 3, I think an MP40 would be too much. I work at a aquarium shop and we have a MP40 in each end of a full SPS 240g 8ft tank and we have them dialed back half way if that says anything about how powerful they are..

I have two MP10's on my 47G. I'd get two MP10's. Later on or even buy them with the wireless module and you will have some awesome water movement!

2 mp 10. I have the same tank. I have an mp 10 on one end cranked at 100% and a wp 25 on the other end. I also have 2 koralia nanos in the back to keep flow behind the rocks, and the flow from my hob skimmer and hob filter.

I would go with 2x mp10 wireless version. That way they can sync with each other. I think you'd have a lot more movement and random flow patterns then just one mp40.

Thats an option too. But I know several people with the NAC series and they seem to work well

Dont get me wrong, the NAC series I think is brilliant. I just mentioned the Curve7 because it is newer and has a more efficient pump.

I own the NAC6 and its still chugging away...I bought it well over 2 years ago. Still using the same pump and same impeller. It does impart quite a bit of heat to the tank, and thats the only criticism I have of this skimmer series.

Ill definitely look into it before I order. I dont even know the price difference. I did talk to someone selling the NAC7 for $40 less than Bulk Reef Supply tho!
