Mp40 or 60

I'm setting up a 260 96/24/26. What is my best bet. 2 mp40's on each size or one 60 on each side

I have one of each on my new tank only cause i already had the 40 with a brand new wet side.

I say go 60 if you can i love mine. It can always be dialed back.

How loud are the 60's? Also read of smaller fish getting sucked into the 60. Any truth to this?

I don't find that my 60 is any louder than my 40. Not had any fish problems so far but I suppose it can happen.

I'd go with two 60's at each end and dial them back, as they will last longer when run at a slower speed.

What about the difference of sand storm between either pump

I cant say there i am bare bottom on this tank.

I know in my other tank with a 40 on each end i had no issues.

Personally, on a 96" tank, I would definitely recommend a pair of the VorTech MP60wES pumps... the larger wetside really helps to move water across large surfaces like yours.

Sounds like a pretty cool tank build, be sure to post some pics once it's up and running! :thumbsup:
