MP40QD experiences separation

my new MP40QD experiences separation during operation. It's like the wet side gets out of alignment from the dry side forcing them apart. It seems to happen only when changing from reef crest to nutrient mode.

I checked that I am using the correct spacer on my 12mm glass already. I've aligned them many times.

The MP40QD on the opposite side of the tank does not do this.

Anyone else having this issue?

I am not with mine. Do a search though as I do recall reading that others had this issue. Don't recall what the resolution was though, sorry.

I had it happen on occasion randomly. Last time after reconnecting I tried to turn it back on and it promptly separated again (multiple attempts). Ran the dryside alone and noticed was not starting smoothly and was making quite a bit noise. Final resolution was a warranty replacement of the dryside. I am not sure the early separations on my unit were related to final failure but the replacement has been flawless.

Longshot:
Make sure the 3 runber "pins"'inside the spacer are going into the metal holes on the pump itself. It's easy enough to have them fold under & not enter the hole. This will cause a slight irregularity on the uniform distance needed to operate properly.
