MP40's not working with Reeflink

I am having trouble using my MP40s with my Reeflink controller. In Ecosmart live, while viewing the Device Manager section, my MP40s are grayed out. I cannot access the settings and my pumps also do not follow the schedule I input, they are just in constant speed mode. I updated the software as the directions state, but I am still not able to utilize Ecosmart live or my iphone/ipad to set up the settings or schedule. Please help!

nomoney,

I would recommend power cycling the pumps. Then signing back into ESL and selecting the "Devices" tab then "Refresh Devices". If you continue to have issues, calling in for more advanced troubleshooting would be best.

I literally JUST upgraded my MP10 to a 'w' and getting it to properly link was a pita!!

At first everything seemed rosy:
*Put the RF module in = easy = 'I love Ecotech! Yay!'
*Turn it on, W lit up = 'RahRah Ecotech!'
*go to EcoSmart, update firmware = all lights flashed as they should, update successful = 'No wonder Ecotech costs so much, it's great!'
*Create new program, program pump.... .... ....
*Create new program, program pump... ... ...
'Come on, Ecotech, don't let me down'
*Create program, program pump... ...
'Ecotech, you #@%$%$^ ^%#$$#@!% $%^%%&^(^) &#%#$@ #%$@%# ^$#%!!!!!!!!' lol

At this point I decided to have another look at those lights on the pump. That's when I noticed that the dial was a sickly yellow-ish color - not exactly yellow, like Tidal setting, and not exactly white; more like 'liver-failure yellow' and the W kept fading in and out, in and out...
That's no good.

Several curses of Ecotech later, I decided to do a second firmware update and that's what I would recommend to you. It didn't go smoothly. Oh no. I had 4-5 times of holding the first two buttons down and getting red, white, and blue flashing; and even a couple times of just green! I don't know what it was doing!! BUT ultimately, after SEVERAL tries, it DID update the firmware a second time. EcoSmart didn't find it right away the second time. It took me "deleting" the pump and then having ReefLink look for devices via wifi, and even after that I had to reload the devices a couple times and finally click on menu, Radion, Vortech (which was greyed), back to menu, and refresh devices again, BUT!! finally it recognized, programmed, and now my pump is running my program.

My point is, #1 - try to update the firmware a second time (this will likely prove to be another headache but just bare with it), and #2 then mess with EcoSmart several times until it finally relents (maybe gets sick of you clicking all over the place?? lol) and lets you see and program your pump.

Honestly, I would have personally preferred if EcoTech had created some kind of program link between the pumps and the Radions that EcoSmart could basically read your Radion settings and program the pump accordingly (like calm down at night, ramp up like the tide, and go nuts during a storm, etc but ~shrug~ apparently it can't do that; at least not yet).

Thanks Mazzy, I'll give it another try using your recommendation. I hear you with cursing Ecotech! Love the pumps and the lights, but this reeflink setup has been frustrating. (for the vortechs, the radions linked up right away) If I cant get it, I guess I'll be calling Alex.

Got them connected and running... finally! Thanks Mazzy, had to run through the firmware update several times but they finally linked.
