Looks good. With back wall mounting, what wave modes do you plan on running? Also, will they be run in sync or anti sync?

Reef crest going to play with sync and anti sync to see how it works out

I would think a pair of MP10's would be plenty for a mixed 80 gallon reef...

Agreed. Although I think the issue is how well (or not well) the MP10s hold onto the 10mm thick glass on those tanks if ramped all the way up.

My pair on my SCA 50g cube (same 10mm glass thickness) hold well enough and run without issue.

I also don't think that they would need to be run at full blast very often in a mixed reef - heck, mine are run at no more than 40% in my cube, which is full of gorgonians...

I personally dislike the Jebo/ Jebao pumps (quality is not sufficient, dislike the blatant copying of more successful brands, little warranty protection), and don't think either can be run off of ReefKeeper controllers without a bridge component. The Current stuff looks OK, and has its own controller, so it might be worth it (can't say for sure on my end as I have not used it), especially for the cost (just over $200 for a pair of the 1050gph pumps and controller).

You might also consider a single IceCap Gyre pump for $150 - has its own controller, and should be plenty powerful (up to 3000gph) for your needs.

The gyre was an option I Looked at with maybe 2 Powerheads on the back wall pulsing just to give some turbulence to the flow

Im starting my 150gal project soon, an SCA 60x24x24” with two MP40’s in the back. Ill also run two Gyre 250’s, one on each end of the tank. Im curious as to how the Mp40’s will add flow to the system.

I have ran 2 MP40's on an 80g for almost 10 years and have never thought it was too much (and I run sand); they are 48" apart, so different dimensions... but still...

Constant on 100% might too much, but that is not how the pumps are best ran.

Totally off-topic - but, wow, is that a beautiful Husky, zooman!

Thank you - that pic is from 8 years ago, and Lana watched over our middle son AJ like a hawk. She was the sweetest dog I have ever had, rescued from a shelter believe it or not (as all my dogs have been), and we had to put her down just before this past Thanksgiving due to kidney failure and dementia. She was 16 years old, and we miss her every day... :sad1:

If you look closely on the other side of her and my son, you can make out her buddy Abner , a dachshund/ beagle mix who is still with us (barely, as he is going on 17 and is a geriatric mess).
