MP40's or WAV's or Gyre's in 5' 125g?

Looking for real world opinions on these three powerhead options from people with similar tank dimensions. Mixed reef. Pics and placement information would be GREAT!

2 "“ Ecotech MP-40's - $800 - These listed because everyone says awesome and wires outside tank.

2 "“ WAVS's "“ $400 - These listed because plug into Powerbar 832 and controllable for $400.

2 "“ Gyres - $500 - These listed because I like the idea of putting them on back wall facing forward...nothing on sides of tank is appealing.

I have a 125g 6 foot long with a gyre XF-150 and mp40wqd. I run the gyre at about 75% and the mp40 at 100% reef crest mode. At these intensities the gyre puts out a lot more flow that reaches the other end of the tank and bottom no problem. The mp40 puts out a lot of flow but not like the gyre. I was running the 125 only with the 1 gyre at 90% for a couple years. I added the mp40 half a year ago to add more turbulence for my sps. I don't feel the tank could run alone with an mp40. That being said the gyre and mp40 are not better than one another. Mp40 has more flow options than my old gyre. It's just different flow patterns due the way they take in and push out water. Which is why I chose both.

So an XF230 would have no problem reaching other end of a 5' tank. Where do you have the Gyre and the MP 40 your tank and assume thats all you have in there. Any pics of tabk you can post?

It should. But I think the XF250 is the equivalent to the old gen XF150. I'd go with the stronger pump and run it at lower power instead of a smaller pump at full power. Pumps burn out faster that way. And if you ever upgrade tank size you're set.

In my tank they're placed across each other. I'll take a pic but it's not much to look at, I had an ATO related crash not too long ago.

No need for pic. Thanks for insight/vote.

I hope to get more insight and input from others using any/all of the three types. The WAV are tempting due to price and plug/play into APEX. Decisions Decisions.

Anyone else????

I'd judge the MP40 to be the best option if you hate wires like I do. Running a pair on my 5' tank (not my main display, but a secondary refugium) with a mix of softies, LPS and some SPS. WAV is nice, particularly if you have the new apex, though they're fairly run of the mill propeller pumps. I personally didn't like the gyre, and don't use it anymore.
