Vortech placement in a 90 gallon

I was going to mount 2 mp 40's in my 90. I got to reading ecotech and ran

across this :

I was surprised as they recommended 3 MP 10's...

I know allot depends on my type of tank. It will be a mixed reef tank.

they kind of graph the flow but don't go so far as a recommendation as to

where to position them in the tank.

How would you recommend placement and why?

Standard 90? My guess for flow calculator would be three mp10 on back wall pointing forward. But two mp40 on end walls pointed toward each other is typically what people do on rectangle tank

yes standard 48" 90 gallon overflow right corner

i found another ecotech instruction manual

it stated master on right slave on left and another slave in back

horizontal placememt wan't clear

anyone did this?

Mine is set up with the return on the left, MP 40 on the right about 6-8” down from top and an MP10 on the left 6-8” above the sand. I wish I would have went with two MP40 now. This set up works for me and I don’t have any dead spots to speak of, but I have to run my pumps a bit higher than I would like with the 10. Also I used to have the MP40 about halfway down the right side pane and until I moved it up to this height I would get a film on the top of the water on the right side of my tank. This took care of it.
