MP40W - Needs fixed

I bought an MP40W a few months back. It has ran fine until about a week ago. I noticed it was running very rough and seemed to be out of balance. One day the pump turned itself off, I'm guessing because it got too bad. So I have been running it at low speeds, but the motor seems to be getting pretty hot to the touch. I think either something is broke or out of balance.

I have only had this for a few months. What is the policy on returns? Should I try to see what the problem is myself or send it in? I did like the pump when it was working and really want to get another with the new firmware. Please let me know how I should proceed getting this one fixed.
