MP40w trips gfci

My buddy has a MP40w that now trips his gfci outlet when he plugs it in. He bought it used and it never really stuck together to well through the glass and would kind of misaligned and cause it to be some what noisy. Was just curious if this was a wetside or dry side issue, or maybe even a power supply issue. Thanks for any help.

If there's a problem with the pump that's making the gfci trip, it would be the power supply. I would first rule out anything else that's on that circuit first though.

thanks for the reply, we did, plugged everything in individually and the MP40w was the only thing that made it trip. At least a new power supply is cheaper than a new dry side.
