I had to think of something to get you guys to look.
Anyway,
I have had a 65g tank setup for right about 1 year now. It is mostly a frag tank, and has an assortment of sps, lps, and softies. This tank has two false percs, purchased about 10mos ago when they were very very small, and a pink damsel.
I have been considering getting an anemone for years, and decided this was finally a good tank to get one for. I purchased a sebae anemone from petco.....yes, I know. Anyway, I decided to get it because it was extremely healthy and was a nice tan color with bright purple tips. It was also still in the bag from the wholesaler, and had only been there about an hour.
The anemone was put in there about 3 days ago now, and has already eaten and is looking awesome. It is in the sand in the bottom middle of the tank underneath a 250w Aqualine Bushke 10k. It looks very content, and only moved about 2 inches from where I placed it.
The two clowns have been on top of each other every day since putting them in there, and usually lay inside of a large frogspawn. They were totally inseparable, and were always laying on top of each other.
Now with the new anemone, the female (the larger of the two) thinks the anemone is the greatest thing on earth, and is extremely possessive over it. She wont let her little guy inside it with her, and forces him to stay at the very edge of the anemone. She will kick him out, with force, every time he tries to swim inside with her. He attempts to do this constantly, and she gets pretty pi$sed off at him. He isnt getting his fins torn or anything, but she is beating him around pretty good.
Is this normal? Will it progressively get better? Is she just asserting dominance in their new home, and will eventually let him in, once he realizes it is her's? (lol)
Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed
