MRC-6 Leaking

Mock

Saltwater Junkie
I have an MRC-6 Calcium Reactor that is leaking at both of the re-circulation fittings. Both are leaking right at the point where they go into the reactor itself. The top bleeds like crazy when you put pressurize it and the bottom is just a slow drip.

These are PVC fittings, look to be welded on on the outside but not the inside.

I was wondering what would be the best way to seal these from the inside to try and stop them. I have already tried from the outside with no luck.

This isnt my reactor as I am at work at the moment but, you can see the way the fittings are connected. They are just PVC fittings, the underside is a slip type fitting that slides through the top plate and is heavily glued to the top PVC union. Both are leaking.

As stated they seem to only have a large glue weld on the outside, I was thinking of trying to seal the inside, perhaps just silicone the mess out of it so that when its pressurized it will push the silicone into the hole rather than push it away on the outside.

They use Weldon16.

Give them a call, they are helpful.

Weldon16 to do the repair correct. Silicone will not help and will make proper repairs hard.
