Okily-dokily. CR-3 ordered with the #8 upgrade package (Co2 Regulator, Blue Line 20 HD, Pin Point PH Controller and a 5 lb Co2 Bottle) along with ARM media.
Is there anything I need to upgrade in this package or is this okay?
I have a 150 gallong LPS/softie tank that is now mainly LPS so it was time. Of course I have ZERO experience with a calcium reactor so I will more than likely try to hook it up and watch the CO2 tank somehow take off like a rocket and go crashing through my roof and land in the neighbors yard, instantly killing their dog.

Here is my MR-2 with a 12" riser and dual injectors. It's run by a Pan world 200 PS.

I've seen beckett skimmers run with mag 12s, and I'm sure this thing is more powerful.
Anyone think I can use it to run a small single beckett?

It is, I know. It also is a power hog.

No, I'm having a great day. I just asked a specific question, and was lookign for an answer to that question. I'm not looking for iwaki information.
The Blueline NS 800 is a pressure rated pump, that has a max head of 17 feet, and pumps 875gph at 0' head. It runs off of 40w.
An Iwaki MD55RLT moves 1080 gph at 0 head, and has a max head of 25 feet. It runs off of roughly 180w. It is not exactly an efficient pump.
I'm pretty sure I've seen people in this thread running 2 becketts off of a 150PS, which is the same as a 55rlt. It seems that 2 NS800 pumps running 1 beckett each would outperform a single 55rlt running 2 becketts by a HUGE margin, and use half the energy. They would also cost less.
I was asking if anyone has tried this.

Question for you MRC Guru's:
My Dual-Beckett MR-3 w/ Blueline HD70 has been running now for a couple of weeks without too much trouble. Anyhow, last night a big gob of chaetomorpha got sucked into the pump intake. I shut things off, took out the pump (thanks to all those that recommend ball valves and unions - I am now a big believer). Cleaned out the mess, started it back up and went to bed. Woke up this morning and checked on things, no problems.
Get home from work this afternoon and the DIY salt bucket/toilet valve waste container was full. Shut off the pump, emptied the bucket and started it back up. Things were good for a few minutes, and then water level dropped to inside the box, and the pump was making noises like it was surging. Took things apart again, no problems, back together, started it up, => same thing......good for a few minutes, then water level dropped and pump is making weird noises.
So what gives? Loose connection somewhere in the skimmer, air valves, what? If it helps I removed the cotton from the air valves as is in the basement and I don't care about the noise. I also have a 100 micron filter sock on the outlet to control micro-bubbles. Skimmer discharges above the water level in the sump so fluctuating backpressure shouldn't be the cause.

You're best bet is going to be to contact Andy directly on this. I've found that he normally responds quickly to email regarding pump options.
Having said that, I completely relate with you concerning power usage. Fwiw, I just got through having an exchange with Andy over the Poseidon T4 pump, and the gist of that is that it should be good for an MR-1, but nothing more. Andy really likes for anything driving an MR-2 or larger to be rated at 22' minimum.
For comparison, the T4 runs 1200gph @0' and is rated for 19'. Based on Andy's feedback, I'd say the pump you want to run may be a marginal choice for the MR-1. (IMPPO, comparing to the Mag chart is a bad plan - while Andy does offer Mag recommendations for his skimmers, it's clear they are not a preferred option.
Honestly, power conservation and beckett skimming are contradictions. If one is committed to running a beckett skimmer, my personal preference would be to drive it with a Sequence. If power conservation is of more concern, go needlewheel.
