Where's all you MRC profesionnals? There has to some on tonight, please bump again for an answers, skimmer is going to be installed tommorrow. thanks guys

You might want to post a specific MRC question in the Mfg sponsored link. I'm sure you will get an answer there.

I know these skimmers run best with pressure rated pumps. My setup does not allow me to run one. Currently I am running an MRC1 with a mag 12 and its working good. Would it be total over kill if I replaced the 12 with a mag 18?

I am considering it as I seen other people running them too but want to be sure its not a total heat kill either?

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Spankey!

Hi, hooking up a used MR-1 w/Mag 12. Running in a 20g long sump to test it out and notice that with top plate screwed down, I get very different water levels than if the top plate is lose. Something to do with the pressure?

Also, came with fairly narrow tubing between pump and beckett head. It looks like this is not right, so I replaced with 3/4" ID flex pipe. Did I do right?

Thx

Thanks, will give it a go. Mixed reviews of the Mag 12 here. Is this a BIG step down from the other pumps mentioned?

OK, another question, after trawling through the thread history I am now worried about the fact the MR1 is sitting in 8 inches of water so the drain is fully submerged.

Real issue or theoretical?

I just got an Oceanforce 200 and was wondering if anyone has tried one yet??? If so, has anyone modified the pump? I did a little research and it has a Sealine Sl-6530 pump...

I called them and spoke to Tim (I think). He said the Mag 12 and submerged outlet are both OK and not that big a deal.

I just replumbed a bunch of stuff and tried the skimmer with outlet above the water line and WAY too noisy, although didn't try an angled down pipe as some have done.

Ok I'll join in the fun and bring this thread back to life. I have a MRC-2 dual beckett skimmer that I run ozone though.
This is a one and only all clear MRC skimmer that I know about.

I aquired the skimmer through a friend on another site and he had the owner of MRC custom make it for him. As far as I know they dont do that for anyof there skimmers.
