mud in my sump smells

the miracle mud in my sump smells bad is it expose to, tank set up time is 17mo. has it gone bad?

Did you grow Magrove trees on the top of the mud to absorb the mud's nutrition? If you did not, then you have to grow some tree on it. Also, try to increase the water flow and change active carbon more often. Those are my advice, good luck

i do vodka dosing carbon good. tank info 120 with corner overflow with a eshop skimmer, eshop sump 40gal with built in refugium with cheetah, 10lb live rock in sump, 80lb rock in tank, water flow in tank good 3 Water Circulation Pumps all 1200gph, and the pump in the sump is all so 1200gph. lights are 2 metal halides 250w 15k 4 blue light 54 @ 760w of light. dose this mud go bad?

Do you smell this mud when you walk into the room or when the mud is removed from the water?

hydrogen sulfide from anoxia if it smells like rotten eggs (sulfur smell)- kind of bad, don't stir it too much. it could also just collected a ton of waste, that tends to smell like .... well waste.
