I have a 40 breeder with standard rim and a screen covering the tank so I would be unable to use the clamps to secure the arms. I would be mounting a single XR30. The screen sits flush inside the lip of the rim so that would not interfere, but my question is will it be sturdy enough without the clamps securing the arms to the rim?
