My journey with these guys have began. Fish got delivered in the morning. The packaging is incredible. 5 layers of bags. After a 20 mins acclimation they're in the tank. The video is 2 mins after they're introduced. Both fish are in good shape. Rock beauty starting to pick at the glass already. Good job DD.

Best of luck... Both fish are difficult...what do you plan to feed the Multifasciatus?
Pretty sure that Rock beauty is a mainly a sponge eater and is near impossible to keep, what do they suggest feeding it?

They've no suggestion. They list brine shrimp, mysis and pellet as their diet in DD facility. I have yellow sponge and red ball sponge in the tank they're going to. I also feed live phyto to encourage sponge growth.

Good news is the rock beauty ate all the mysis I fed maybe ate some pellets too, just a few hours in the QT. The MB still pacing one side of the tank maybe she'll follow the little RB :)

My suggestion is to add some pods for the MB to pick on...gave up on Rock Beauties 25 yrs ago.

Is it difficult to get to eat or not doing well long term?

IME, both are difficult to get to eat... I have a pair of Multifasciatus but it took a few to finally have 2 survive, including a DD pair that never ate... I have 5 on order for this week, hope to get another pair or trio for another tank that I'll be setting up...
As for coral beauties, there can't be many hobbyists that have had them long term.

I must say I am quite addicted to the difficult to keep angels. Mine is said to be indo but I read only those from Marshall Islands have the faint yellow bars but mine does. In any case I would love to get a harem of them too so this is my test run.

me and albano have tried the multibar several times. mine was in a 80g system and his in a 450g system. both are mature systems. they do need alot of live rock to pick from, speaking in regards to the multi bar's i did get mine eating prepared food but eventualy seemed to starve out, they also are very shy fish

I had both of these fish & the rock beauty took 2 days to eat prepared food. The multibars, about 10 days & they were doing great. I also agree with Albano that live rock with the addition of copepods were critical to getting them comfy & eating regulary. Best of luck & looking forward to pics & updates.

Thanks PK. I moved them to my second DT which is hooked up the main system. Lot's of rocks.

The multibar is active but mostly hangout by the class. Not shy at all and do not go into the rocks, which is weird. No feeding response at all. I saw some poop came out so it must be eating at DD.

The rock beauty seems to be comfortable in and out of the rocks.

Feeding mysis, blackworms and LRS food 4 to 5 times a day. Might try clam when I am getting desparate.

Update. The rock beauty is doing great. Eat frozen food and belly always full from picking at stuff. The multibar on the hand is not eating anything. Maybe picking at the rock every once in a while. Still seems to be in good shape health-wise.

My rock beauty has been doing well also. I have had it maybe 6 months so far, but no problems. I got mine directly from a collector in the Keys - he brought it to me as he was passing through Louisiana, along with a reef butterfly, a hi-hat, and an Atlantic Blue Tang. All are doing great. The reef butterfly won't eat pellets, but the rest do.

Nice Ken, didn't know you got a rock beauty! I still have mine.... SLOW grower though...

Mine just like the picture. Nice little round belly. Graze all the time and eat frozen food. I think mine is from Caribbean as well.
